About
reserving online. You may reserve
all classes online using our webscheduler.
All reservations are pre-paid and classes can be purchased
at the same time on the webscheduler.
You have access to your account 24/7; however, online reservations
stop 12 hours prior to the start of class. All classes with
zero students signed in 12 hours prior to the start of class
are automatically cancelled.
To reserve or just “walk-in”?
Reservations are required to guarantee a spot in class. Online
reservations close 12 hours prior to the start of class. You
can “walk-in” to any class that has an available reformer.
All “walk-ins” are taken on a first come first serve basis.
Check the webscheduler
to see how many reformers are still available for class. All
classes with zero students signed in 12 hours prior to the
start of class are automatically cancelled.
Cancelling a class you’ve reserved a spot in.
All scheduling changes must be made 24 hours in advance. You
can cancel on the webscheduler,
calling or emailing
the studio. All cancellations made less than 24 hours will
result in forfeiting that class as a late cancel. Clients
with an ‘One a Day Series’ will have a $15 late cancellation
fee assessed.
I had something (my child, work, car, dog, etc) suddenly
come up and I can’t make class today. Sorry, all
reservations have a 24 hour cancellation policy. To keep things
fair we hold ourselves to the same 24 hour cancellation policy.
If we should cancel a class under 24 hours we will credit
you one class to your account. If your schedule is not conducive
to making reservations 12 hours prior to the start of class
you are welcome to “walk-in” to any class that has an available
reformer.
My babysitter just cancelled on me… can I bring my child to
class? Unfortunately, we don’t have any child care
facilities at the studio. Not only is it too dangerous to
have a child in the workout room it’s also unfair for the
other students in class.
I think I made a reservation for class but am not
sure. To double check your schedule log onto your
account on our webscheduler.
You will find a plethora of information under the “My Info”
tab including “My Schedule”. It’s always a good idea to double
check your schedule after any scheduling, rescheduling or
canceling to make sure you finalized your changes.
How many more classes do I have left on my package?
Log on to your account on our webscheduler.
Click on the “My Info” tab then click on “My Account”. You
will see all your class packages, number of classes used and
expiration dates.
Wait list. You can sign up on a wait list for all classes
that are full. If a spot becomes available Grace Anatomy will
call or email you to let you know you made it into class.
When do my classes expire? All class packages
expire 1 year from the date of your first class. "One a Day"
Series are active for 30 days starting the date of your first
class.
Transfer Policy. All class packages are non-transferrable.
Do I have to have bring my own partner for a Semi
Private class? Yes, give the gift of health and bring
a friend! We recommend group reformer classes if you don’t
already have a partner.
Can I park in the small parking lot? No,
unfortunately those parking spots are reserved for our neighbors.
We would let you park there if we could but they’re just not
ours to give away. Please park on Moorpark or any of the surrounding
side streets.

Reformer Class FAQ
What level class should I take? If you
have never taken a Pilates class using a reformer you must
start in level 1- Beginner. There are many safety issues
with working on a moving carriage which will be covered
in class. Yes, you may be super strong… yes, you may be
extremely coordinated but that just means when you fall
off the reformer you’ll fall off more gracefully. Safety
first!! take

How many classes do I have to take before I can
move up? Everybody is different. It depends on
many things… how coordinated, flexible, strong, healthy
etc. your body is. Some people choose to stay in their level
1 or 2 for good. Others want to progress as far as they
can. Remember when you advance in Pilates you don’t just
pile on more weight or do more reps. The more advanced levels
require much more strength to hold you up in precarious
positions. Once again, safety first! take

When to arrive. We recommend arriving 5
to 10 minutes before a scheduled class start time. This
gives you time to settle down, relax and get focused before
class. The start of Pilates classes is very important and
you don’t want to miss the warm-up.
Arrival time for first-timers. We recommend you arrive 10
minutes before your first class. You can save time by filling
out the new client forms in advance.
What do I wear? Wear fitting and stretchable
clothes that you would feel comfortable lying down and stretching
in (similar to Yoga apparel).
What do I bring? Bring a pair of sock to
class. For hygiene purposes, Grace Anatomy is a sock only
studio. Some people wear specialized non-slip socks, like
Toe Sox, that enhance their grip on the equipment. Non-
slip pads are available throughout the studio and Toe Sox
as well as regular socks are available for purchase at the
front desk.
Will I get a workout in my first group reformer class?
Yes! Although you will learn how to adjust the reformers
safely you will also learn the principles of Pilates as
you go through a full body workout.
Will I get individual attention? We keep our classes
small (1-6 people) to ensure you get the proper attention.
That being said, clients must be injury free to participate
in reformer classes. Private classes are tailored to your
personal goals and needs. If you have injuries we recommend
private classes.

Pilates FAQ
How many times a week should I do Pilates?
Pilates is considered strength training. If Pilates is the
only strength training you do, than 2-4 times per week is
great. If you are incorporating Pilates into your current
workout regime than cross train with 1-2 times per week. Just
remember, a little bit is better than nothing at all!
Can I do Pilates two days in a row? Yes,
although Pilates is a tough workout it differs greatly from
weight training. In weight training your goal is to completely
exhaust your muscle fibers and break them down. In the repair
process there is a thickening and growth in size of the muscle
tissue. The muscle tissue needs a break in order to repair.
In Pilates, you never completely exhaust the muscle fibers.
Pilates is considered resistance strength training and not
weight strength training.
Will I bulk up doing Pilates? No, remember
Pilates doesn’t not exhaust and break down muscle fibers like
weight training so the accompanying repair and thickening
of muscles doesn’t happen either. No thickening means no bulk!
Resistance is the type of strength training that physical
therapist use on injuries. It creates strength without adding
additional bulk.
Is Pilates an aerobic exercise? Yes and no,
although Pilates does increase your heart rate it doesn’t
raise it to a sustainable aerobic level for an extended period
of time. Cardio Tramp classes, on the other hand, are a very
aerobic workout. Cardio Tramp classes are done in intervals
along with Pilates strength training for a complete supercharged
workout!
Will I lose weight with Pilates? It takes
three things to lose weight… strength training, cardio training
and diet. Pilates is a great way to strength train. Do any
one thing and you’ll see a difference. Do all three things
and you’ll see a huge difference!
Can I do Pilates if I am pregnant? Yes, if
you were already doing Pilates prior to your pregnancy and
most importantly, your doctor agrees. Your Pilates workout
will change when you enter your second trimester and adjustments
will be made to the equipment and to the exercises. Our clients
think that Pilates helped them have smooth deliveries and
quicker recoveries.
